Our first
impression, beyond the lei greetings and lovely smells of the airport, was eight days of disappointment. We didn't get it! |

| Then people in our auto sales group led us to dinner under the banyan tree, lit in the bazaar with tiny lights. Later, we walked along the beach, wading in warm rippling waves, and different music from each hotel we
passed. We were captured for ever after. |

The aloha in every breath of air is an indescribable sense of feet hardly touching earth, and people smile on crowded Kalakaua Avenue or hushed in the sound of a waterfall tumbling in the plaza. | ||||||

Once or twice a year, Lee and I kept going back to Hawaii for more of palm trees with shimmering moonlight reflected under a sky of velvet dark blue, and swaying to the music still playing in our ears. | ![]() |
