Wyland is one
person who is making a difference. To learn a little more about
Wyland visit my Wyland page.
I was in Myrtle Beach, SC on
August 22, 2004 at the Wyland Ocean Challenge and saw the band 34
Below! Great energy, music and helping to promote a great
cause. Clean Water Coastal Cleanup.34 BELOW (ACOUSTIC POP), are 3 of the 5
member of the award winning alternative rock band 34Below, from San Diego
California.
Wyland has made a pledge to help clean up the oceans in 5
years. He's got a lot of coast line to travel and needs your help.
To help you can donate to the WYLAND
FOUNDATION. This is a great non-profit Foundation who helps to
put out fascinating science and art educational programs
in the classroom FREE to teachers, K-6...
Those incredible Whaling Walls Wyland paints
are also a part of this wonderful Foundation. Wyland has completed
91 of the 100 Walls he has pledged to do. His belief "one
person can make a difference", be that person.
When you donate to his Foundation you also get some
cool Wyland gear. Check out his site to learn more. The more you
give, the more Wyland shows you his appreciation. If
you meet Wyland, tell him Kathy the crazy red head photographer says
ALOHA!
The guy in the background filming is James
Helms who has been an actor and professional wrestler for 16 years
& became a 34Below fan when the tour visited New Hampshire.
Who's on tour? Vocalist Steve Ybarra and guitarist Chris James, and percussionist Gustavo Peraza
34 Below was promoting its first album, "Is It You?" on an NBC morning news show a few years
ago when they met Wyland.
34 Below is also discussing the possibility of joining Wyland's West Coast tour in 2005.
The Wyland Ocean Challenge combines art and science in an educational program that
promotes the conservation of ocean waters.
Five years ago, this alternative rock group was known as Liquid Groove
The band changed its name to 34Below after
winning a San Diego Music Award.
34 Below reference to San Diego's geographical location lining up with the 34th
parallel on a map
34Below performs original rock, with philosophical lyrics about love and life, enhanced by Ybarra's raspy, powerful voice.
The first leg of the event includes performances in 15 eastern
states from Maine to Florida.
34Below does a high-energy show, and Steve will
get in the crowd to reach out and grab you.
34Below sold copies of their latest CD, 'Live at Dublin
Square" at the event to help raise funds for the Wyland Foundation.
The group, 34 Below, has a song that is getting some National air play. IS IT
YOU. To hear and see a video by this band please check out
