SWEET SURPRISE the CD by Cecilio Rodriguez

Music is something that touches the soul like nothing else can. For those who know me or have visited pages on my website you know that I LOVE Hawaiian Music, and I prefer the Adult Contemporary Artists the best. If I know someone is going to Waikiki and they will be there on a Sunday I normally will say, it's a must to see Henry Kapono at Dukes. Well, it's not everyday you can see Kapono with his legendary partner of C&K, Cecilio, so when the duo does get together, it's a real treat. Cecilio lives in Hawaii and he is made his own mark on his own as a charming, personable and multi talented performer. Cecilio can be seen at a few gigs each month with his own band.

Cecilio Rodriguez is warming hearts & exciting new and existing fans with his new acoustic rock CD, SWEET SURPRISE!

The first song released from this accomplished songwriter was "Liliana", which was first premiered on A PLACE CALLED HAWAII 3, produced by Aloha Joe, Hana Ola Records & Cord International who produce many of the top names in Hawaiian Music today and yesteryear. Many of the songs can be heard on the Aloha Joe Radio show found only on your "computer dial" at www.alohajoe.com. "If I Could" , "Paradise", have been heard already and the CD was released to the stores in Hawaii on November 4, 2004. This is a CD that Adult Contemporary fans from Hawaii should add to their collection.

Cecilio wrote 13 of the 14 songs found on this CD. Cecilio plays many of the instruments on the CD as well. Some of the instruments that Cecilio plays are: Electric guitar, Acoustic guitar (both nylon and steel stringed), Mandolin, Bottle-neck guitar, Electric bass, Congas, various hand percussion instruments, Trumpet, Piano, 5-stringed Banjo and uses Lee Oskar Harmonicas exclusively. "If I Had A Boat" is the only song on this CD NOT written by Cecilio. It was written by his friend, Lyle Lovett. Cecilio's songs are written about love, passion & dreams. The music is joyful, revealing and captures that spirit most know from the sounds of C&K.

Cecilio is the "C" of C & K. Cecilio & Kapono helped define the music of the Hawaiian Islands soundtrack back in the 1970's with a smooth, sweet, harmony of good times. C & K released their album, Thirty Years of Friends -- Lifetime Party, which won Adult Contemporary Album in 2004 at the 2004 Hoku Awards. Cecilio Rodriguez and Henry Kapono were brought together by mutual friends early in 1973. Within a year they signed a national recording deal with Columbia Records.
