THE ANCHOR LINE  - Almost to FOLLY BEACH, SC has moved.  I am not sure where it moved too. Sorry.

After spending the afternoon looking at  fish at the SC Aquarium I got a craving for some good "Low Country" Sea Food.   I wanted mine FRIED and my our of town guest wanted a healthier style of sea food!  Out towards Folly Beach at the Anchor Line Restaurant we could find a great fried and grilled sea food menu.  I love their Fried Clams and  for my second pick was torn between the deviled crab cakes and scallops. In the end I went with the scallops.  My visitors went with the Shrimp and Scallops grilled in Lemon Pepper.   I used the excuse I needed to try the grilled style for my website write up so I could try theirs.  They bought the line and got to sample the grilled shrimp and scallops.  To try something new, I tried the Blue Crab Gumbo. It wasn't my favorite, but it was good.

We enjoyed our dinner overlooking  a peaceful  "Low Country" marsh view on the screened in deck that reached out over the creek.  Drinks are self served and dinner was served on Styrofoam plates. After talking to our table neighbors about how good everything was, I couldn't wait to dive in when dinner arrived! The scallops were so juicy and tender they melted in my mouth. The clam strips were so good it reminded me off growing up in the "Low Country" all over again.  Our table neighbors on the large picnic table were visiting the area.  They have been visiting the area for many many years and made the Anchor Line was one of their stops each year. They told us they always tell friends who are visiting to come to their favorite spot. As they say, "Friends don't let friends eat at bad restaurants."

The price for the portion & quality you are getting will put a smile on your face!  If you time it right, who knows, you might be able to see dolphin swimming by as you eat. If you are hungry, you have come to the right restaurant.
